It is oftentimes easier to seek out help from a professional when facing a physical ailment than emotional pain. Struggling with life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, worries, sadness, and destructive habits doesn’t make you crazy, it makes you normal. As a mental health professional, I aim to guide clients in utilizing their existing coping skills as well as develop a variety of healthy techniques to ease uncomfortable emotions. In an effort to facilitate balance, I will support you in managing life’s stressors during all phases of life. I collaboratively recognize strengths to empower clients to make positive change in their lives. I am passionate about the multicultural experience and aim to gain greater insight into the integration of the multiple ethnicities of clients. Overall, I encourage reflection on the past as well as connecting with unexpressed thoughts, feelings, and needs to better understand the core of our present experiences. Mainly, I believe the most powerful healing comes from the therapeutic connection. My approach is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their experiences and pain en route to gaining insight to healing emotional wounds, and achieving growth.

I encourage clients to use any method that is most effective for them to be their true self. I utilize an eclectic approach in therapy, which means that I combine a variety of different approaches and techniques to best adhere to your unique situation. Because everyone is different, we will work collaboratively to decipher which method is most appropriate for you. Therefore, I see clients with a variety of presenting issues in all stages of life. My specialties include:

  • relationship issues (particularly interracial relationships)
  • domestic violence
  • teen dating violence
  • child abuse
  • trauma/victims of a crime
  • parenting
  • the impact of divorce/separation on children
